Improving young people’s lives

I started out as a youth worker and I’ve worked in all kinds of services for young people. I’ve always believed that young people should be at the heart of any organisation that seeks to serve them and that work with young people is an educational, social and civic practice.

Even over the course of my career, work with young people has changed. Where once we had universal services and local clubs for all-comers, now we have projects and targeted interventions. The purpose of work with young people has changed from collective civic engagement and informal education to the development of employability skills and the prevention of criminality.

And for those organisations that deliver essential services, protecting the most vulnerable children and young people from harm, we have higher numbers in need and reducing resources to support them.

What are you doing for the young people you work with? Need some help? Get in touch! Check out the menu on the left to see what I can offer.
